going to the chapel and we're going to get married....

One of my best friends since freshman year of high school just got engaged! I'm so excited for shauna and andy! (oh yah.. i've decided to start using real names because it's stupid to not on here... i'm not going to tell anything tooo bad on this little blog) I'm so excited for them. I'm also quite excited/proud of myself because I've known he was going to ask her since December! Yup.. since december! and I haven't said one word :) That was really hard because Shauna has been waiting for this for awhile .. and I just wanted to scream it's coming! Especially because we lived together and I saw her everyday.. keeping that big of a secret was rough. I love this picture of just their hands in the black and white. Such a great (self) shot! I really miss photography....I hope to own my own studio one day and shoot weddings, babies, kids, couples.. all of the things I love the most!!

Anyway.. back to the bride and groom to be! What I like most about their story.. is that.. it doesn't have some hollywood/disney start. It's not like the met and it was love at first sight. They didn't have some amazingly cute little story that you'd see on "perfect proposal" or "the wedding story" I think too many people (myself included) believe that when you find "the one" you'll know right away and some great, hilarious, cute, sentimental story will follow. It always doesn't work out that way... and when it does, those people are lucky to have it, but it's not needed for a lasting marriage. Shauna, and andy for that matter will tell you that this relationship started out like many college relationships do.. after a night out :) They will both say they had to work at it, and work both together and apart to make it work.....but more times than not...life long relationships can start like that. I love how shauna said... "it took us awhile to realize we were soul mates" So cute, and so true. We're young.. we don't know what we want, who we want, or why we want them. Sometimes it takes awhile to grasp something. I can't think of a better guy for her. I lived with Andy as well this past year... and they compliment each other so well. Andy will have shauna laughing at all of his funny, and even not funny jokes until they are old and grey :) I can't wait to watch them grow together for the next many years..... and I hope one day to be 1/2 has happy as they are! I've seen shauna experience.. I believe her first kiss and first boyfriend.. and I'm so excited with who she has picked for her last :)

rise up!

I love this picture of LBJ. I really hope the CAVS can pull through. Cleveland needs this!

busy as a bee...

wow! What a crazy few days! I love how everything happens at the same time... I mean.. why would things happen any other way?
So as of now I'm getting my room ready to sublet out, getting ready to move, trying to find a 3rd roommate, meeting with the landlord, oh yah.. and Oxford my puppy is coming home on July 12!! Needless to say, I'm a bit busy!
I'm moving july 1 to glover park! I really can't wait! it's the cutest little area! very safe too! about a mile north of georgetown. I'll have to deal with a bit more traffic, and target won't be a mile away, but I know it's a good choice!
Not even planning... we actually pretty much
spent all weekend in Glover Park! Thursday night we were at Town Hall.. and guess who was there... ohhh the BUSH twins.. yup yup. We roll with the elite crowd... ha. right. Anyway, that was pretty cool. Of course we were wasted, so when we were leaving we walked to our new house and picked some flowers and "marked our spot" if you will. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever grow up :)
On saturday we went to a house party up on Wisconsin.. it has this huge wrap around porch and it really reminded me of a college party. Kegs and everything. Made me miss miami a lot! Or just the people I used to hang out with on big wrap around porches like that.
I had the most hilarious convo with this guy there... He was talking about akon, and how he through that girl off stage. He was like "you know katey... I'm going to have kids one day.. you're going to have kids one day.... butttt I'm sorry.. I know I'll be an over protective dad and all... but If i see my daughter dancing on stage with akon... I'm not going to get mad, or upset or ground her.. you know what i'm going to say, I'm going to say... go bitch go!!! hahahahah. OH MY GOD. i was dying. Hhahaha. the way he said it. Then I was like wow.. so I'm pretty sure you're 1/2 black then uh? because he was trying to act like it... and he was like... ohhh ya girl, half of me us 1/2 black, I won't tell you which half, but I'll tell you it isn't the upper half. Best thing was he was a very white, very preppy kid. Too funny. He lives in the area too.. so I hope I can hear his parenting skills some other time.
More and more of my friends are moving down here... I LOVE IT! it will be so nice to expand my group a little and see new faces. I went to dinner with a few over the weekend.. just so nice to catch up!
